In an HP office jet K60 how does one remove the remaining part of a piece of paper that got stuck. Next to nothing of the paper shows beyond the roller area, though about 40% of the paper remains in the machine.

Same thing happened to me.
Simply open up the back end of the printer (Not where you insert the ink cartridge).
There should be some kind of a switch of lever.

Open the printer cover, and then remove the paper that's stuck in the printer.

You have to open the printer up, it should show you how in the printer manual. On out printer it has a little screen, so maybe yours has that.

use manual form feed option printer has ... or get a pair of needle nose pliers or some tweezer and carefully remove the paper if you can grab it. If not take it to a good shop it won't cost much if anything to get them to remove it .

Turn the bad boy around, on the back you should see a little knob with an open lock and a closed lock above it. Turn it and pop open the back panel, this should expose the rear side of the rollers, gently pull the paper out.
