It is unclear what happened to Spartacus after his defeat by the Roman General Pompey. Hollywood would have you believe that he was crucified with his captured men along the Appian Way leading to Rome. The truth is that evidence was never presented of his capture or even if he may have possibly escaped the battle.

Rome crucified Spartacus along with the rest of his followers that were caught by the Roman army. Thousands were crucified by the Roman Empire wherever they went to dispense their justice.

Eventually after Spartacus revolt failed against Rome he was executed by crucifixion, the death penalty for those except Romans who committed treason against Rome

The crosses actually lined several miles of road into and out of Rome as a warning to anyone else who tried to lead a revolt.

He was caught and crucified. All the other slaves in his army were also crucified. There were so many the Appian Way was lined with crosses.

despite we see in the classic movie starring kirk douglas that spartacus was crucified along the via appia with fellow survivors of th uprising , it is not sure if he survived or was also crucified or died in battle while his body was not reckognized.

We don't really know what happened to Spartacus himself. He may or may not have been crucified with his men.
