Based upon some of your suggestions I've first adjusted the senitivity, but the door continued to only move six inches. I then repeatedly pressed the remote button and got the door to move downward 6 inches at a time until it reached about 12 inches from closing. I now can't get the door to close more or even open from this point. Next I may try to loosen one of the rails to see if the door will move more freely, then see what happens.

Disconnect the opener from the door. Now hit the opener button and see if the opener cycles through up and down pattern and see if it travels without stopping. If it does then the sensitivity is to sensitive, the weight of the door is making it stop. You may have the sensitivity to high, or there could be two sets of adjustments for it. One of the adjustment on most openers is for travel, how far you want the door to go up before it stops, then how far you want it to good down. God Bless and Good Luck.

While you have the opener disconnected, open the door manually, Does it roll freely on the tracks, or is it binding? The rails could be out of alignment with the guide wheels. Is it a wood door or a steel door? A wood door can get out of alignment from expansion of the wood in damp conditions.

does your opener blink when closing and stops? If so check eyes. it sounds like you may also be adjusting the limits instead of sensitivities. your sensitivites should be blue knobs with with numbers 1-9 around them. another thing that comes to mind is a bad board. beside your learn buttton there will be a little LED light. is it blinking? if so is it blinking several times. if it blinks five times and stops then keeps repeating, it is a code for your RPM sensor. Sometimes what happens is you have had a power surge or lightninig strike and it has wiped out the board.
