Thanks for your answers so far.. what i really want to know is.. is there a legal minimum/maximum limit to the length of a 'standard' bus stop and/or can existing bus stops be extended/reduced and if so, for what reason/s???

Erm, the easiest way is to do that is to take a tape measure to your bus stop of choice and measure it!

I'd recommend off peak, to reduce the risk of physical injury to yourself.

your local council is responsible for bus stop application and allocation,the size depends on how much demand against safety and road priorities are considered
