Maybe I am confused with what it means to be a dictator, but I thought Saddam had total leadership? Why then are we hanging everyone that ever worked for him? Did you hear one was "accidentally" decapitated during hanging? His sons were killed mostly for being rapists, with no trial? How are *we* not the police state with a dictator?

You're correct! Maybe we're hanging the wrong "officials"! ;-)=

Saddam did have a trial, even though it wasn't as serious as a trial should be. These other people are being tried. Saddam's sons were killed in a gun battle, their deaths were the result of a military operation, they were not executed in this sense. Being able to dispense justice is only one facet of a dictatorship, and because it's separated from the other functions of government that makes Iraq not a dictatorship (a dictatorship cannot have power shared amongst members, nor checks and balances).
