You bet maaan!!! It is taken more than seriously. Ask Dhoni (or his folks back home in Ranchi) for proof of that. You should have watched the news the day we lost to Bangladesh. Short of flags flying at half mast, there was a deathly pall of gloom across the nation as if there had been some calamity of mammith proportion.
I think our generation is losing it!!!

YES WE ARE TAKING THE WORLDCUP SRIOUSLY ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO CRICKET BECAUSE THIS IS A SPORT WHERE THE INDIANS PLAY WITH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL.WE ALSO HAVE MANY GOOD PLAYERS.EVENTHOUGH INDIA PARTICIPATE IN OTHER SPORTS THE OTHER COUNTRIES OVERPOWER US.SO CRICKET IS THE ONLY SPORT IN WHICH UPS AND DOWNS CANNOT BE PREDICTED AND INDIA HAS A VERY GOOD TEAM WHICH HAS THE CAPACITY TO WIN THE WORLDCUP.THIS IS THE MAIN REASON WHY FANS ARE CRAZY ABOUT CRICKET.
