My first reactions:
I agree with Alex--this article has nothing to do with war and your argument is illogical
life is a battlefield for women
the military is less physically exhausting and has more intellectual jobs and thus less of a deterant to women and rightly so
women have more social sense and ways of expressing emotion
if you took the gender out, what would you think? If they never said "she" or "her"--freaked is freaked
your argument is illogical and doesn't fly
the war is wrong--our troops belong at home
and you're yet another angry man in the women's studies section--this isn't your pulpit of misogyny--find another way to vent ie TROLL

Some random civilian woman is horrified to find a student frying in a closet and you think that means all women shouldn't be in the military? As if I couldn't search the net and come up with a news article about a man finding a dead body somewhere and freaking out. Could I then decide that all men were unfit for combat? That's some fine reasoning skills you're using... No, it's not really. Actually, were I you, I'd be embarrassed.

This has very little to do with combat. A man finding a decomposing body when not expecting anything of the kind would be traumatized. It is very different being in a combat zone where you are expecting death and just going about your everyday work and finding a body that has been rotting for two months.
That said, I'm not completely sold on women in combat but this is really not relevant to the discussion. And nothing in the article mentioned anything in her pants, using hyperbole just work against any point you make.

If A is B
and A is C
Therefore, B = C
That's a logical fallacy. Using the same method:
Targa is a man
Targa is a person who does not know how to make a logical argument
Therefore, all men are persons who do not know how to make logical arguments
See? Doesn't make sense.
Now that we have established that the actions of one woman do not represent the actions of ALL women, let's address the situation she encountered.
If someone found a dead body *unexpectedly*, they would most likely freak out too. Men, women, trans, whatever.
Finding random dead bodies is not the same as being in combat and expecting to come across this sort of thing.

Not all women belong on the battle field. Those who don't belong should never join up. Women when it comes down to it make might fine warriors, but not all of them. Bodicia (sorry about spelling) was one of those women who belonged on the battlefield, the fabled Amazons are another. Before a woman undertakes the task she'd better get to know herself first and be honest with what she finds.

Not very good higher level thinking skills used here. Your comparisons don't work for the pathetic point you are trying to make. Most human beings would have a problem with coming upon a scene as you describe. Utility workers wouldn't be compared with troops trained in combat.
A lot of us never bought into the equality thing. In reality we know men aren't equal to us. Most guys could never live the life of a woman who many times now are highly educated and have excellent jobs. And we manage to do most of the work at home, have the babies, and feed, clothe and clean up after them. Help with homework somewhere in there. I have seen men throw up at the sight of a dirty diaper.
If we're going to pull examples out of the air, my nurse daughter says it is legend, the number of men who pass out during their wives' labor and delivery.
I don't think having women in the military is a good idea, either. But not for your reasons. You need to go back to your drawing board if you want to pursue this line of reasoning.

Do YOU think you could handle it? How do you know? Have you ever come across a decomposing body unexpectedly? Do you REALIZE how bad rotten burned flesh smells? Even if SHE was traumatized, do you think all women would be?
I'm a biological anthropologist. I've worked on forensics cases. I have a VERY strong stomach, but let me tell you, the smell of burn/electric victims will get to me every time. There's just nothing like it. Give me maggots any day.
1) Until you've experienced what she's gone through, how DARE you judge her??
2) You have no right to judge all women based on the reaction of one lone individual.

I won't mind killing a person in self defense. You put me on a battle field and I get shot at, you better believe I'll do some hard core as* kicking. But people in the military are trained to fight in these situations. But weather anyone likes it or not, everyone might get drafted soon. Man and woman.

I guess that I just don't understand the point you are making.
Aren't all Whole Human Beings traumatized to one degree or another by participation in the horrors of war?
What would set her apart?
Have you ever read up on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder--PTSD?
It affects many people who are in the Military during war time, and evidence of it exists as far back in time as there has been the written word.
Good luck

What does a dead college student in a utility room have to do with combat and a battlefield? If you want to pick a reason why a group of people should not be doing something try staying on topic....
