Sink and then swim - you get to see all kinds of cool stuff down there, like in Finding Nemo. (I'm talking about scuba diving,...) ;O)

I went swimming once at Bronte Beach in Sydney.. the surf was absolutely huge (autumn swell), beach was closed, but there were a couple of guys out the back boardriding and so I went out into no man's land and found myself in the impact zone.....
After a while I thought it was quite comfortable sitting on the bottom holding the sand as I watched a couple of large waves in a row go over the top of me ... but then I decided I would rather live and I decided I had to swim. I got back to the beach and crawled out of the water and just lied there. A life guard came over and said "I saw you go out but I knew you would be right"....
Have been doing so ever since.
