Now that Religion has been taken over by Politics should we withdraw it as a subject from our Schools?

depends in what culture you think you belong to as British always believed what brand of label you wanted to belong to it was always christian same god same believes just different ways of worship but fundamentally same god ..so its not political ....... our Representatives are mostly christian ...... so as the so called majority ...... Christianity ..... its morals its believes is basic foundations... being British .should be taught in schools ...... that's what makes us British UK citizens ...so no it should not be withdraw..... from our basic christian standards like it or lump it ...that's what makes us British ... your welcome

I would not go as far as to say that Politics has taken over religion. However even if this was the case Religion should still be taught in school as there are many advantages should as the Moral Component that accompanies religion that would help guide the action of youth of our society.

I believe that the state should not fund religious education. If parents wish their children to learn their particular brand of mumbo-jumbo then it should be done at their expense and in their time.
A similar argument should be applied to the political bias in teaching young children. They should be taught only facts and allowed to form their own opinions when they have the wisdom do do so.
