Midol works great... adding some heat will significantly increase the relief of pain. Also, staying away from the sweets and caffiene is supposed to help with some of the other symptoms even then they are a mood booster. If Midol is not available, two Aleve in the morning and two at night work pretty good too.

I have found midol good for during the day. I take the one with caffeine so I am not as tired. I have also found that exercise during the month keeps the pain from being as bad.
Next month, start taking any of the above mentioned a few days before your period.
For now, drink something warm and stay off of you feet if possible for about 45 min. to give it a chance to work. Feel better.

The best thing to do is to start taking ibuprofen 3 times a day the 3 days prior to the start of your period. It decreases prostaglandin production which is responsible for menstrual cramps. If I forget to, as soon as I know my period is starting, I take 500mg of tylenol and 600mg of ibuprofen at same time. 2 different types of medicines, won't overdose. Just make sure you have some food in your stomach first, ibuprofen can cause N/V on empty stomach.

I find Midol works best for me. Advil just upsets my tummy and Tylenol just gets rid of the pain without helping the rest of the "blergh" symptoms.

Well Midol will help relieve all of the symptoms pretty quickly. But there are ways to help with the cramps: hot water bottle, heating pad, therma care pads, if you take calcium vitamins they will help the cramps more naturally....good luck

I have to use Motrin 800. My pains are really bad so if I don't have Motrin I use a heating pads. See if your mom or dad can bring you one of those ThermaCare Heating Wraps for women. That seems to calm my heavy cramps when I'm at work and I don't have any more pills.

My recommendation is motrin because it is a muscle relaxer. Take it with food or a glass of milk. Hot cinnamon tea helps too. Drink cinnamon tea instead of other beverages during your period.

You don't need tablets. All you need is a hot soapy bath, some comfy PJs, a mug of hot chocolate, a hot water bottle and a snooze. =)
