I've had the implant fitted and it made my periods go all over the place to start with, however, it now seems like 2 months since I had one-is this normal? Considering I was bleeding every two weeks its just a bit strange that they've suddenly stopped!

Definitely worth it! You don't have to remember to take pills every day and I've had no side effects considering the pill really upset me

I had one implanted 13 months ago.......and all I can say is WOW!!!!

I have had one period in all that time, and that was only a very short 2 day one. I've had occasional spotting while the implant has been in but I've also saved a small fortune on sanitary products.

I was told there might be all sorts of side effects, but the only one I have had is my periods stopping. Think I can cope with that!!!! If you are concerned please speak to your family panning clinic/GP, but other than that I hope it works for you.

It can take quite some time for your body to settle down and get used to the hormones.

I know people who have no periods at all with the implant (and also the injection)

I also have heard of people whose period took 6 months to settle down, but they still had them each month.

I think you are lucky to not have periods now and long may it continue!

(just for other readers, the implant is in your arm therefore anyone can feel it if you let them, not just the boy!!)

hiya, i had my first implant for 5yrs then 3 now another for 3years and my monthlys have still been all over the place, but its been great not having too worry about taking the pill every morning.. but i will say this, i was told by a hospital doctor the other week that the implant can cause cysts, as ive found out, so please get yourself checked and have a word with your doctor for the facts.

ive had the implant since last april and have had a very light period once every 3 months. Its definitely worth it. Getting it put in takes bout 10 mins and is totally painless...much less traumatic than having the IUD

I had the implant in for the full 3 years & in that time I think I only had one period, so don't worry about not having them , enjoy it!!

Go to the doctor immediatley. It might have come out of place, or your body is rejecting it. This is something that should be professionally dealt with as soon as possible.

they have the same side effects as the birth control you ingest.

also, some guys can feel the implant when they have sex with you, some can't
