First day of last menstrual period = day one of pregnancy (even though you haven't even conceived yet!)

Around 2 weeks after the first day of your last menstrual period = conception (already 2 weeks pregnant!)

Around 4 weeks after the first day of your last menstrual period = period is due - you notice that you missed it and discover you're pregnant - already 4 weeks along!

And so on and so forth. It's confusing, but the weeks of pregnancy do not start at conception or implantation. They start at the first day of your last normal menstrual period
Saying this did I get pregnant July or August?

Yah, it is SUPER confusing. But they say you are pregnant the first day of your last menstrual period becuase a lot of people, if fact, don't know their ACTUAL date of conception. So it's kind of a bundle package and an easy general. So if you know the ACTUAL date of conception then you know if you were pregnant in July or August. But if you don't then maybe there's a potion you can mix and some bones you can throw across the table to see what day it really was LOL bcuz that's what it seems like it takes!!!

No one can give you that answer if we don't know when the first day of your menstrual period is or even when you had sex. They go by the first day of your LMP because it's almost impossible to pinpoint when you might have conceived. This gives them some point as to how far along you are and to how to gauge the growth of the baby.

You've got the counting right! Confusing, I know. I guess that most women can't figure out exactly when they conceived, but can remember their last period, so it's easier to figure out a due date that way.

As far as figuring out when you got pregnant, it depends on when you had your last period and how long your cycle usually is. The easiest way to figure it out is to use one of those Due Date Calculators on the internet - try one of the links below.

That is how to calculate a pregnancy, but since you didn't tell us anything about when you're due, when your last period was, or anything at all, we can't tell you when you got pregnant.

How are we supposed to know? You didn't even say how far along you are.
Pretty much every woman on here is educated through their doctor or midwife about their due dates and such. It is not confusing at all.
