At that time I worked nights and didn't usually roll out of bed until 1pm in the afternoon. I found out on the internet after I checked my email I saw a picture on the yahoo home page of smoke coming out of both towers. I thought it wasn't real. I read the story then turned on the news I was so shocked!! I still get emotional thinking about it today.

In a meeting at work....I did advertising for a real estate company...one of the realtors came in late and really upset. We cancelled the meeting and set up the conference TV and all of us just watched awestruck all day long. Shock that the US was vulnerable to it. Lost my job soon after that because the housing market took a huge dive.

I was in the chair at the dentists office. They had the TV on in the waiting room and everyone including some of the office help was crowded around. When I came out of the office, my husband told me. We went to get a prescription filled at Walmart and that's when we heard about the Pentagon. We were in shock.

my habit is to turn on the news as soon as i get up, and i awoke just in time to watch the entire thing unfold. i spent 14 hours in front of the tv. not to brag, but in the next two weeks, i went out and single-handedly raised over $2000 that i sent to the "widows and orphans of NYC police and firefighers association." it was a gesture i felt was what i could do to help and ease my grief.
