i just receieved a 55 on my midterm in my oceanography class yesterday. we have one more exam in may. those two grades will be combined and averaged to make our grade for the semester. i think its bullcrap how we only get two grades this semester but thats besides the point.

if i get atleast a 90 on our final, which will cover everything from now until the end of april, i will get a 72 in that class. i believe i can get higher than a 90 on the next test if i motivate myself.

what would you guys do?

I would drop the class. If I had a C, I would drop it. Even if I had a B. I am not satisfied with anything less than an A-.

you might not want to take the chance. If your having a wicked hard time in that class then even if you study your guts out you might fail? you just might want to take that into consideration. Also why would you want to pass with a 70 somethign when you can redo the course and totaly get a 90 as a final grade. that might look good once it comes to graduate and you apply for a job it says that you wanted to do better and then you did. Ok so do what you want to. im only here for advice.

I wouldn't drop the class if you know you can buckle down and make a good grade on your final. With a little studying you can make the grade, but I would drop it if you are worried about making a good grade in the class.

it's a bit too late to drop the class is it not? Even if you fail the final, you can just take it again at a later time. it's not the end of the world if you fdail a class.

If you think you can get higher than a 90, go for it. Maybe you can talk to the teacher about working on an project?

I would only drop it if the class does not go on my record. At my university, dropping a class too late means the class will remain on your record as dropped.

Depends on your university

I'd drop it and concentrate on the other classes. This is from a person who has dropped accounting classes for about the same reasons as you.

just still go through with it. then you know the 2 tests better when you retake the class assuring you a better grade cause you will know what is on the test.

If you think you can do it, do it. I believe it's too late now to get any kind of refund on your tuition, and it's too late to start a different class, so work your butt off and do it.

Go for it. If you believe it, you can achieve it!!! Go with the other post & ask for a special project of some sort to give you extra credits.... :)
