Contrary to the belief that John wrote this song about Yoko, he actually wrote it about a dream he had about he and his lover May Pang. John even convinced Pang to be the mystery voice that called his name "John" during the first bridge. On the second bridge he reversed the tape of her saying his name.
EDIT - the Ah! b'wakawa pouss?, pouss part are just nonsense lyrics he made up that sound foreign.

Well - this is not the #9 song on the white album that some people think it is - this is a John Lennon solo song - not a Beatles song.
It is a bit of an odd song - but I like it:
I would say it is truly about a dream he had...read some of the lyrics:

So long ago
Was it in a dream, was it just a dream?
I know, yes I know
Seemed so very real, it seemed so real to me

Took a walk down the street
Thru the heat whispered trees
I thought I could hear (hear, hear, hear)
Somebody call out my name as it started to rain

Two spirits dancing so strange

Dream, dream away
Magic in the air, was magic in the air?
I believe, yes I believe
More I cannot say, what more can I say?

On a river of sound
Thru the mirror go round, round
I thought I could feel (feel, feel, feel)
Music touching my soul, something warm, sudden cold
The spirit dance was unfolding

The only thing that throws me is - what is
"Ah! b'wakawa pouss?, pouss?"
It might be another language??
