TRY having your ex owe over $20,000 in child support!!!! I've had to make long distant phone calls to tell either the employee to garnish his wages or the child support caseworker where he lived or what job he was working at. That is there job...what is child support for anyway??? But they say that their caseloads are so overloaded that they can't track down every "dead beat". But yet they have computers and should be able to run his social security and see where he's working!!! But anyways I wish you the best of luck!!! If you have any solutions for the amount of money that my children deserve let me know!!

You can go to court and ask to be heard if necessary. The court can order an additional amount to be paid toward his arrears. If he is not working they can order him to seek work at a specific number of places each day and keep a list they provide of job applications and give him another court date. Do you know if he has more than one vehicle? Anything of value that he can sell to pay off the arrears? If so, tell your caseworker. They do not personally know these people, has tons of cases, something is better than nothing in many instances. They do not have time to research these payors inside out and keep tabs on them. You have one parent to deal with, they have many more. Their job is to enforce the order to be extent possible. The payor may go to jail if the court orders it until he pays a specific amount or until a future court date. You would be surprised how many payors have the money on them or make a call and get that money when they know they are on their way down to the county jail. We collected a lot of money this way. I had the reputation in my office of having folks lined up to give me money. I always did what was fair for everyone under the circumstances. Getting payors on track and keeping them under my thumb with court dates was my best approach to collections. Good luck to you. Your caseworker is not your enemy, please remember that. Work with them and tell them anything you know that might help them.
