Pretty much the same as the traditional names as today, George, peter ect..
Its a fair bet that a lot of girls were called Elizibeth as she was on the throne at the time and was popular amounst her subjects.

Starting from c1600 and throughout the 17th century, Biblical names became popular in England - so we have Sir Isaac Newton for example.
The 17th century was a most turbulent one in English history - religious turmoil is an understatement, what with the Civil War etc.

globally, i figure it would be french names since France was the most powerfull (and probably the most populous, except for maybe india and/or china) country in the world. Powerfull countries export their culture, amongst wich resort names.
Also, biblical names should have been a great hit, with all that attention going into religion around that time (pious wars)
