Showers are far more hygenic than baths. Every now and again most people like a nice hot bath to "chill" out in but at the end of the day you'll just be wallowing in all the muck you are trying to clean off. It's nice to have a choice but if it's one or the other I'd go for the shower everytime.

No, showers are actually more hygienic than baths.
The only downside is that if you have kids, or plan to have kids, you will probably need a bath of some sort, since they tend to run around in the shower, and there is no way to get them clean without getting yourself wet in the shower.
It might also affect the resale value, as some people like baths.

I believe that it is more hygienic to have a shower rather than a bath, plus it saves water bills. Having a shower motivates you to use a sponge/puff/flannel to wash yourself with - which not only rubs off dead skin, but improves circulation by applying pressure, and bringing blood to the service.
Whereas having a bath means that although you can feel more relaxed, this is half the reason that you wouldn't be as inclined to use any implement to clean yourself with. And not only that, you will be soaking yourself in the germs, bacteria, and anything else your skin has collected throughout the day, back onto your skin once it has dried. Also its better to rinse off the soap, as soap rubs away the natural oils on your skin.
So yes, showers are better.

Not particularly . Most bathrooms have both but not all people shower and others only shower. Providing you do one or the other regularly there should not be any hygiene problem. The only time you might get a problem in a household is if someone did not wash themselves for a while or if showering only did it very perfunctorily and did not clean themselves properly.

showers are more hygenic than a bathtub, as when you get into the bath all the dirt and grime from you is floating around in the water so you are actually bathing in your dirt. whereas when you shower it is being washed down the drain as you scrub.
in my opinion even if you have a bath you should shower after, to me a bath is for relaxing and each time i have a bath i have a shower straight after.

As everyone is saying...no, showers are more hygienic to have, baths keep all the dirt! and are harder to clean too! Its just easier to have a bath in the house rather than just a shower when selling a house that's all! x

Showers are definitely more hygienic, only found out after watching a programme, which highlighted this, so having watched the programme, I took to having a shower after a bath!!

NO. In fact a shower is more hygenic than a bath where you sit in the dirty soapy water whereas the shower leaves you soap free and really clean.

Its more hyngenic to only have a shower as water won't pool up in a shower stall, where it could in a bath.
