I live in the Orihuela Costa area which is south of Benidorm. There is plenty to do here. Golf, water parks, restaurants, clubs, bars of every description. We do get a lot of tourists due to the variety of activities and also don't forget the blue flag beaches which stretch right along the coast. The nearest airport is Murcia - San Javier which is about 25 minutes away - but Alicante is only 45 minutes in the other direction.

Depends what you're looking for in the tourist areas. If it's bars, pubs and young discos then you can't beat Benidorm for that.
But if it's anything else, then here are a few:
Villa Joyosa,Altea, Calpe, Javea, Denia, Moraira going North towards Valencia
South of Alicante: La Marina, Guardamar, Quesada, Torrevieja, Villa Martin, Cabo Roig
Inland: Sax, Elda, Petrer, Villena
In fact there are no areas within 100 km radius of Alicante that doesn't have Brits in it!!
