Yes.
Work from home jobs is usually an oxymoron in today's modern society.
However, most self-employed people do work from home to some degree, and before the industrial revolution, almost all jobs were work from home.
There is a difference between work from home and work at home. Work from home can include a small town taxi driver or a plumber or a driving instructor... anyone who uses their home phone number to talk with clients and keeps their equipement in their house.
Working at home for someone else is usually called telecommuting. Most telecommuting jobs are given by companies to employees who are or become housebound. There are enough people making money from this kind of work (on a regular salary) to have a separate property tax classification in some countries. Of course, if you have a quiet home, you could have an answering service.
Self employed work (from home or at home) is different than most of those "work from home" people would have you think. You don't answer any adverts or pass any exams. Well, if you do pass exams, it's after a strenuous face to face degree or diploma, nothing mail order or over the Internet.
You advertise your own services in places like the yellow pages, you put flyers on windshields, you send out junk mail (please, no spam) to people and businesses, and you usually make your own stuff (or fix something to a customer's specification).
Some legit work from home professions: Plumber, electrician, interior decorator, translator, typist, driving instructor, piano teacher, doctor, lawyer, psychologist, accountant, genealogist
