First of all, if your eating habits have changed, if you've had a major surgery, or if you are exercising more or less, or even if you've been sick it can affect your cycle. Second of all, more than likely that pregnacy test isn't going to be accurate if you spotted and also it may be a bit early. Pregnacy tests detect hormones that your body produces to keep your baby safe and so that you don't miscarry. I would definitely go to a doctor, because you may be pregnant. You could also have something going on with your bod. Better sooner than later!

If you are worried that you might be pregnant - go to the doctors or clinic and get a blood test done! That is the only way to be 100% sure! The blood tests are more sensitive and accurate than the HPT's we buy over the counter!

Good Luck!

It is normal for there to be some variation in your menstrual cycle. This does not sound particularly unusual. If you're still worried, you can wait a couple of weeks and then take the pregnancy test again. As always, when in doubt consult your physician.

Tests are never positive, but neither is having a period. When my wife was pregnant, she had a seemingly normal period throughout her first trimester. Try testing again in a week. If you're still not sure, see a doctor.
