GRE is for grad school. And only for some grad schools. A lot of the professional ones have their own standardized tests.

Other than the Univ of Phoenix not being a real uni-

Whats wrong with proving you have the knowledge base to do graduate level work? The assumption is that people are minimally suffficient in certain areas so they can jump right in to real learning.

I thought taking the GRE was a snap.

I attend Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA for Counselor education and I didn't have to take the GRE's but I know for some graduate programs here you do. I don't think it could hurt to take them, it would provide you with more college options. Good Luck!!
