I've heard it's a big scam.

You can win less than you can spend. Poetry.com is set up to make money off amateur poets. Occasionally they give out a small prize (never the biggie) to keep people coming back. The way they make their money is to sell anthologies, plaques, and other products to the individual poets so they can show them off at home.

By the way, being published by Poetry.com does not count as being published in professional circles.

It's a huge scam. A bunch of poets several years ago sent in a bunch of jumbled words to see if it would be accepted and it was. Ignore it.

yeah..my friend just won something yesterday...but i suppose you have to have good poetry to win anything..
