Because his father was a mean drunk and Huck knows that his dad is only after his half of the treasure that he and Tom found.

His father is a drunk. He only comes around when times are good or when he thinks he can get something for free. He steals from people. He's also mean to Huck.

Did you read the book? If you have, than it is VERY obvious what the answer to this question is. His father is a drunk who is only trying to get Huck's money.

coz he didn't like his dad as he was a drunkered.n he knew dat his dad wud take the treasure he n tom had found.
