There are a lot of successful writers that, believe it or not write some fairly disturbing books. The fact of the matter is that a good writer can bring the reader through a range of emotions, whatever they may be. Just because you are creative doesnt mean that you're weird, I would say unique. If writing is something you truely enjoy then you should continue doing it, and realize that everyone is a critic. Do you think that everyone who writes a murder mystery or horror story is a twisted? Certainly not, keep doing what you enjoy reguardless of what people tell you.

You need to stick with what you are good at, and develop your skills. Not everyone wants to sit down and watch a movie, or read a book where everything is all happy, the ending is always on the side of the "good guy".
The people that do . . . they watch Barney.
I think that a true gift is being able to tell a REAL story. In real life, people lose money, die, and do bad things.
Stick with what you love, and just try not to shun them too bad when you are a great author, screen play writer or director :)

Just keep writing and if this bothers your friends then don't disclose any information about what you are writing. As long as it is a book and not your thoughts then I don't see anything wrong with it, you may become a very good writer someday and be famous so don't worry about what they are saying...

How old is this person who is pretending to be a psycho analyst?
My advice would be to ignore him. You don't need to prove anything to him. It's a book.
Now, if you are wondering why you "think these things up..." Well, perhaps it is simply because you have the gift of "empathy" and a good grasp of "cause and effect" therefore you have wonderful "creative writing" skills.
I hardly think that because you write about death that it means you have "issues."

You sound like one day you will make a good novelist. Just keep using your creative writing skills. There's nothing wrong with having several works in progress. Big hugs and lots of success to you, Darlin!

Alot of successful authors write stuff like this and are highly respected for it...sometimes.
Maybe your friends just don't understand your writing. Everyone has a unique writing style, your friend are just acting very ignorant. Maybe for now on, don't show them your stories until they understand them for themselves.

what about when people write books about murder or serial killers it doesnt mean thats wot they are or thats what they are thinking of doing! every1 has an imagination but we dont put all thoughts into action!! if they were ur friends they wouldnt question you they would appreciate your writing!!
and what about directors when they do a horror/thiller movie its horrible and thats what they thought up!! but it doesnt mean they are going to commit murder!
some people are just small minded do what you doing i hope your book goes well!!
good luck!
