Oh my god. I'm stunned by the question.
First of all, unless her dad is the type who will do anything for his little princess, she'd better make d*mn sure that he WILL buy her a new one before destroying a perfectly good phone.
What is her reasoning for wanting a new phone? Is her current one just not trendy enough any more? Or is it the equivalent of a housebrick (which MIGHT hold more sway for getting a replacement, on the condition she recycle the phone at a charity shop which will put them to better use than many of the other destructive uses mentioned so far)? And - although I can't believe I'm actually advising on this - a magnet will NOT deaden a phone, especially given that there are hundreds of magnet-based mobile phone holders on the market.
How old is this friend? Old enough to save up and buy her own? If she's getting more than £50 a month pocket money or earnings, she needs to learn financial responsibility and buy her own wants.

And what if her dad says she cannot have a new phone because she wrecked the old one, a phone in the hand etc. she would be better to keep the one she has until she can convince her dad she needs another and as a dad with a daughter I think it will take some time.

I know a guy who wrecks his phones by throwing them against a wall. He has a bad temper. I think this way will be a little too obvious though because it will be in pieces. :o)
Maybe she could drop it on the pavement a time or two? Or ten?
Oh! I wonder what would happen if she baked it in the oven? Poor phone. I'm starting to feel sorry for it. :o(

"There's a party at the weekend and I've lost my phone, can you buy me a really flash new one so I can spend more of your money calling you to say I'm safe and OK and need a lift home" Try that before destroying it!
Dads go for that sort of thing!

hook up the jumper cables to your car. next, remove the battery from your cell phone. next, touch the loose ends of the jumper cables to the circuit board under where the battery in your cell phone was. this will fry the phone!!! be careful not to touch the loose ends of the jumper cables with your hands tho!

rnning over your phone with car doesnt work. i tried with this one phone we found. i ran it over 5 times and it started working better then before i did. some buttons didnt work. then after they did.
i think the best way it to just toss your phone as far as you can saying its droped, my friend suggested to use a hammer!

Wow, that doesn't sound too mature.
But I suppose you could always smash it. Or, accidentally drop it very hard.
