examination to determine their fitness for office BEFORE they would be nominated or voted upon for office to prohibit another "Bush" type to be elected?

And should not Bush be given these tests now to determine his mental stability under the present circumstances?

The rest of the country is subjected to these things..... I feel it's only fair that the people that make these rules are subject to their own rulings. A random piss test for them would also be in order.

The way they seem to want the laws to work is just more proof of the double standard of justice we have in our country. Wendell Willkie once said; "The constitution does not provide for first and second class citizens. "

It looks like some people have forgotten this ever since Gerald Ford blocked the justice system from convicting Richard Nixon.

You know what, even though I am a big constitutional rights person.I support this idea, not only for politicians, but for absolutely every person who has authority over others.Police, customs officers, judges, everyone who is involved with the administration and creation of laws that govern us.
The reason: laws administered by psychos, idiots or criminals are worse that no laws at all.
Peoples lives are important,to have them served by unfair or incompetent laws and lawmakers is subversive to the entire society. We shouldn't have to be dependent on populist things such as investigative journalism and the media to find out about and denounce intrigues, corruption and plots, for example.

President Bush would have passed those tests. There is no justification to administer such tests now.
Polygraphs would not weed out the worst liars like the Clintons because they are sociopaths.

They should get treated as all people in the U.S. get treated. I may get a drug test, at the most, to get a job, so I can see that being enforced, but most politicians know how to get around most roadblocks. Really sad, really.

It would probit types like Al Gore, Hillary, Dean and lots of liberals too.

Just because you don't like Bush doesn't mean he is evil.

I would get over it.

In about a couple of years he will be gone and you will still have the hate in you.

I don't think that would be enforceable.

Plus, given political power and money issues, they could present whatever evidence they could buy. So, how could we believe the reports?

And, as a nasty addendum...they could compel the rest of us to do the same if we questioned them in any way...

sounds like a recipe for a police state.

best bet for voting is to choose the candicate that best represents your views and demand accountability from them.
