It's caused in the rise of HCG. This hormone stops your body from attacking the foreign object inside and causes many women to get morning suckness.

Morning sickeness IS caused by a rise in HCG.
Sometimes some people are more sensitve than others.
Progesterone DOES NOT cause it.

According to my BabyCenter Essential Guide to Pregnancy and Birth it states this; "No one knows the exact cause of morning sickness. But as with so many pregnancy symptoms, it is likely triggered by increasing levels of pregnancy hormones, which can result in an increased sense of smell and sensitivity to noxious odors, as well as a more sensitive stomach."

Yes, its all on how the body reacts to its own raise in hormone level. Even if the level is not high enough to be detected by a test. Some people are more sensative to changes in their bodies then others. Blood test will probably show a slight change.

Yes it is still possible because of the hormone changes your body is experiencing. Plus some doctors say it can be psychosomatic. But that is not proven. Web MD has alot of get answers on this.
