I like to have freinds over but I dont want the appt to smell.

ferrets are known to be stinky but if you keep them and their cage clean i don't think you should have a huge problem. also there is a way to remove the glands that make them stinky, i think. ask a vet about it. but anyhow, i dated someone who had ferrets in a pretty small apt and it wasn't a big deal at all. i'd be more concerned with making sure you keep them out of trouble! they are very clever!

My apartment is a decent size for 2 people we have 3 ferrets 1 boy & 2 girls they are all descented we bathe them 1 x month to much bathing will make them smell more,and we clean their litter box every day. There is this stuff you can buy from pet stores called bio-oder it works very well you put it in their water bottle every time you change the water they make one especially for ferrets. Your apartment might not smell if you stay on top of the cleaning, but your little ones will always have a smell, you will still snuggle & kiss them because it's so hard not to no matter how much they smell. If you bath it on a regular basis and keep its cage clean it will have a musty small but not a real stinky one.I had Ferrets and they are great pets and your friends will think there cool also.Just remember -- never handle a Ferret with food on your hands they will think it is food and bite you no matter how tame they are...

Depending on the square footage of you apt., I think one will be OK, but multiple ferrets will really stink it up. I know from experience that walking into a small, multi-ferret apt. is like being hit by a 2x4.
You can thumbs down me all you want...but I'm telling you it is hard to breathe in that apartment!

Those kind of animals are known to be stinky but if u keep it clean. they wont stinky at all. Get it a big Cage so it can have space and its regular exercise. Hope I helped

I'd hate to say it but my friend had two of these and despite having them "descented" and keeping the cage clean..they still stunk!

from what I've seen - yes - unless you have their scent removed. they are cute, cuddly but always smell like urine - no matter how much you clean them - so have their scent removed.

yes but you can buy this stuff you put in there water that makes there pee not smell.
