My grandparents sold us the house that we live in. Before they lived in it, a woman committed suicide in my bedroom.

For the past week we've been seeing things around my house. Like for example, my sister saw a woman in a black dress with red hair standing in the bathroom when the lights flickered.

Last night, my dad was coming out of the bathroom and he saw the same woman in a black dress with red hair walk down our hallway. He thought it was one of us, but we were all in the living room at the other end of my house.

I'm like petrified and can't sleep at night. What should I do?

Just for the record...I DO go to church on a regular basis. I'm a firm believer in God and I'm a Christian.

I know it sounds crazy, but I don't believe in ghosts.

Don't give me that bullshit about calling ghostbusters!

I believe that my parents house is haunted-

From the ground floor, you can hear footsteps of someone above you when no one is upstairs, and from upstairs, you can hear furniture being moved around when no one is downstairs! Several people (even those that have not heard that strange things happen in our house) have seen a woman walking down the stairs in the house, and also have heard a man talking to them. Things also get misplaced a lot- it tends to be remotes e.g. air conditioners / tv remotes will go missing, and then will turn up in a huge pile in an obscure cupboard! I have even felt someone move my leg in my sleep (it woke me up), and will not sleep alone there! In the tv room, there is a storage room located behind the tv screen, and the door that leads to it is next to the screen. While watching tv, the door will open automatically several times (this cannot be explained by wind as you have to turn the knob in order to get the door to open! And i have tried to push the door from various angles to see if the latch is faulty, and it is not.)The house was built on an empty plot of land, and we have no history of the land. I am just glad i don't live there anymore!

What I believe helps is trying not to think about it, as the more you think about it, the more energy you are giving to the 'being' to menifest itself, and also regular prayers in the house (i.e. all members of the house praying together daily). Both of these have reduced (but not eliminated) the activity in my house. Also, one thing that comforts me, is having pets in the house. (coincidentally, the activity in the house also reduced when we got 2 house dogs). The dogs do go funny sometimes- barking and growling at an invisible presence, and refusing to go into certain rooms, but at least it warns you of the presence, rather than you stumbling across something and seeing it yourself!

Talk out loud to the ghost. I'm not comlpetely sold on the existence of ghosts, but I love the shows on TV about it. You can do things on your own to try to prove it. Take pictures when the lights are off. Walk around with a tape recorder asking questions to the ghost, and then play the tape back as loud as it goes. Sometimes you'll catch something you didn't hear when it happened. Set up a video camera where she is seen the most, and let it record on its own all night.

Either way, if there hasn't been anything vengeful or agressive, then you have nothing to be afraid of. Just make it obvious that it is your home now, and she needs to move on. Get a priest to come and bless the house, it's a common practice when you buy a house.

Whatever the case, real or not, you have to be comfortable in your own house. I sometimes get spooked in my new house, but I always stop, and I say out loud "I will not be afraid in my own house", and then I feel better.

I don't mean to scare you or anything but it's more than likely a demon. So if you believe in God and his mighty power, pray over your house, command the demon to leave, the first thing they want is for you to be scared, so stand in the authority God has given you and command them to go back to hell where they came from, they can't disobey God's power.

Bogeies in the bathroom are better than boogers under the bed.

Who you gonna call?...GHOSTBUSTERS!

Seriously, though...

Did your grandparents ever see the ghost?

If you're religious, you should talk to someone at your church about it.

If you're not, you should consult a parapsychologist or ghost hunter.
