Too much information about your period or similar (we don't want to know, go to the doctor)
I read one this morning, said she had an appointement for an abortion on Thursday but was bleeding so should she still go?
Explaining that they have tried to kill themselves and similar stuff..
Don't you think that this is really not the place for that?

Yeah, I think that some people go a bit too far. There are a lot of questions on Yahoo where the only sensible answer is "go to the doctor."
Although sometimes the questions are just looking for people's opinions, when they're actually looking for medical help it's totally inappropriate to get it off a lay member of the public on a website.
I appreciate that doctors may be part of Yahoo Answers as well, but anyone could lie and say they are when they're not.

anyone who's ever had depression will probably understand what the other person is going through. If you think the question looks stupid or 'inappropriate' don't open it...don't reply to it etc! it's not hard. This is a questions and answers website...why should people only ask the questions that you would like to hear...or perhaps the ones that you are able to answer. appreciate that some people have problems-at least they're looking for solutions!

To each his own, however I do get worried when the questions are extremely personal and the person sounds like they're not quite stable. IDK if the q is for real or someone is messsing with us. Most the time I feel like such a voyer I don't even finish reading the q and move on. Does the YA staff have any type of monitoring system or accountability in this area?

Some are inappropriate but some are need to know questions. Some things like personal health problems should better be asked to a doctor. If you are really bleeding why waste time typing the question when you can phone your doctor and get a real diagnosis.

Well, I suppose if the situation warrants it go ahead and ask.
If your bleeding and it's not your period though, that person might want to haul a** to the doctor. Just a thought.

I understand the point you are making, and I agree with you.
I am here for entertainment. This isn't life. But, for many people, this is the only outlet they have to ask such questions, or the only outlet that many feel comfortable asking such questions. I think that's a shame.

A lot of people are still convinced this is a chat room just as long as there is a question mark at the end.

I totally agree - there are things I really do not want to share. They should be for the privacy of a Doctor's surgery.

i think these kind of peopl, were just looking for an outlet, maybe in there real life they have noone to talk to or sort of like that. so they resort refuge here virtually. thats why sometimes when i come across those kinds of questions, i try not to mean but rather consoling.
