Five to ten stereotypes you can't stand the most?

Name five to ten stereotypes that you cannot stand the most (can be any stereotype, ethnic, racial, sexual preference, gender, religion, belief system, personality trait, etc...) and why.

1-that all masculine-presenting females really want to be men,
2-that feminine-presenting females can't be lesbian/queer,
3-that all asian people are recent immigrants ("where are you from? No, where are you REALLY from?")
4-that mainstream hip-hop culture is representative of black culture as a whole
5-that all christians are scripture-quoting hate-mongers
6-that all arabs are muslims
7-that all muslims are arabs
8-that all muslims and arabs are terrorists
9-that all white people are ignorant racist a**holes

These all bug me because they either affect me directly or I see them operating around me with a high degree of frequency. These stereotypes work to divide people and create the dichotomy of "us/them". Stereotypes are never productive or representative of the whole; they block people from connecting via our similarities by making us focus on our differences.

asian people are bad drivers

most koreans own a liquer store, dry cleaning shop etc...

people know nothing if they live in the states and they dont speak english well

if u are an immigrant, you must need help with english or any other academic thing

Women are the weaker sex

Irish people are all drunks and lushes

Catholics worshop idols

Jews are stingy and cheap


The problem is that exery stereotype has a basis in at least a glimmer of truth.

i'm black and that i like fried fowl. I married a white woman even although and he or she won't cook dinner it, lol. I even have not had it in a pair of years. i'm travelling my mom on the end of this month even although and he or she promised me that she will hook me up. i can't wait.

Stereotypes aren't true, but a tool to make a member of talked about group feel either bad about themselves or the group they closely associate with. Where's the love?
