Being open minded is not always a bad thing, but most liberals I know are so open minded, it's like saying "anything goes! Do what feels good." What ever happened to right and wrong? Do they even have morals? You've got to stand for something or you'd be considered a cop-out.

"The program of liberalism, therefore, if condensed into a single word, would have to read: property, that is, private ownership of the means of production... All the other demands of liberalism result from his fundamental demand."
Men cannot be made happy against their will.
Only a group that can count on the consent of the governed can establish a lasting regime. Whoever wants to see the world governed according to his own ideas must strive for domination over mens minds. It is impossible, in the long run, to subject men against their will to a regime that they reject.

I know this is going to be hard for you to understand but the world is a very big place with lots of different people. People form different ideas based on experiences, points of view and culture along with a bunch of other different influences. Now I consider people who never change their ideas from birth to death very boring people who never lived and learned. Besides that zealots are very boring. So before you go and judge others way of think I just want you know that life is bigger than your high school graduating class. So, don't hate your political adversary but enjoy the debate of ideas. The process of being a great thinker is exercised in debating issues.

Well as a Liberal Socialist Democracy nation, Canada does pretty damn good. Lower murder rates, longer life expectancy, lower birth mortality rates then the US. We also just had a 10 billion dollar budget surplus. I am proud to be part of a liberal nation. We are for the masses not the individual, caring social minded and open.

It's a kind of open-mindedness. There was a time in America when being a liberal thinking person was a good thing.
In the rest of the world, it still is.
Liberal thinking brings about change. Most Americans like their country just the way it is so they discourage Liberals.

If a person honestly assessed his or her views on several issues, and that's how they classified themselves, they would "consider themselves a liberal".

Because Liberals understand that people are unique in their own way, and they're very openminded and accepting of other's as well as different beliefs and ideas. Isn't that what Jesus would have wanted?
