It is normal, but can be for many different reasons. Could be just figering out what he/she can do, could be bored, could be trying to go mess the diaper. I wouldn't worry!

The baby could be tired. A lot of children that age do a rocking motion as a comfort to them when they are sleepy and just can't get over the hump. I wouldn't worry about it. My sister rocked herself like that until she was almost three. If you're still concerned in a couple months, mention it at the baby's 12 month exam. Good luck!

This is part of the developmental stages, some babies do it and some do not!

My six month old does it all the time. Put some music on for him and watch him jam!

It's cute and don't think your baby is strange!

it could be boredom make sure that the toys you have are age appropriate and that you have enough to keep the child stimulated, also some babies find this movement soothing, it should only be a worry if your baby is hurting herself .
If you are still worried you should mention it to your health visitor .

The baby is just figuring out his or her muscles. All part of growth and development. It also might be fun to do.

Comfort. Especially in kids who don't have a binky, they find ways to comfort themselves. This baby is probably just discovering what his/her body can do and what feels comforting to him/her.
