My exhusband obtained personal counseling sessions with my 16 year old daughter and I without my consent. Is this legally possible?

Have a 16 year old daughter who we share joint custody. We are legal divorced. This child was in an inpatient treatment program and they release to my ex husband without my verbal or written consent my personal counseling sessions with my daughter. He has used these sessions to create problems and I have no idea how he was legally able to obtain these records without my knowledge. I can see him having access to all other records but not my personal sessions where it was just my daughter and myself doing counseling sessions. I know he has these records because he has stated things that where only stated to my daughter during these sessions and he has outright said to has the records. This was not court ordered records release. He requested and obtained these records looking for ways to create a problem for my daughter and I. Do I have a legal recourse?

do you have joint custody? That is the central question.

When you say ex-husband I am assuming that you are legally divorced. If this is correct he had no legal right to have access to them.

In certain situations, possibly court ordered.

cant see how, as long as you are in there with her. If just her, as the parent he could. You'd have to check any permissions you signed.
