What is wrong with you people - you need to broaden your horizons. Try her on Letterman

I agree with oldlangsyne - I think it will be "Come On" It's the most mainstream like of her songs but it's still great. A perfect screw you song. We will see in about an hour

So Are you Alright it was. I like that song and the whole CD - but I wish she could have done Wrap My Head Around That or Come On because they show more of her range. I think for a mellow song - Learning How to Live would have been a better choice to show off her unique voice and raw emotion. But how horrible of me to complain! It's just so good that she got some exposure

YES!!! I didn't know she was going to be on! I've been a huge fan of hers for probably 8 years or so now.
No idea what she'll play off West. Although I like this album better than her last 2, it still doesn't come close to Car Wheels or her self-title albums. I think my favorite song from West is the first one, 'Are You Alright?'.
Thanks for the 'heads up' on her performance tonight.

I would have been really mad if I had just read this question and not accidentally stumbled on Lucinda Williams on the "Adam Sandler" show earlier this evening. I honestly would have guessed that she would sing "Are You Alright?" just because it is fairly accessible to an audience that might not be familiar with her and it expresses such universal feelings.

You know what? I wonder why people bother responding to a question such as yours with something as mindless as "no" or "who is she?" They must really be into this points thing. But it's even more discouraging to read many of the comments about "West" on Amazon. There are so many people, including so-called fans, who just don't get her. She is as real as it gets. She takes her pain and instead of committing suicide (as several of her friends have done) or engaging in marginally less self-destructive behavior, she translates that pain into beautiful art. It's the blues at its best: incredibly painful and beautiful at the same time, but always real. I've taken to saying that her albums should be rated "A" for adult. I think you have to be genuine, maybe even older, adult who has been around the block a few times yourself before you see the totality of what she has to offer.

Thanks for bringing her to people's attention.

Too bad some people don't know of her. I "discovered" Lucinda from her appearance on Letterman a number of years ago. Hooked me with "Can't Let Go." Have 3 of her CD's now. Really regret I haven't been able to attend any of her appearances in Kansas City.

I would say she should play "Come On"...but that is just me.
I myself loved her duet with John Prine " Wedding Bells" & of course her own song " Lake Charles", amazing sound on that one.
Later.
