Why do you think the government can do better than the private sector with health care? Will we all be going to a "Walter Reed" (government run) type debacle? Isn't this the beginning of a "Socialist" type of government? When has the government "done a better job" of anything (except spend money without accountability) than the private sector?

No, most definitely not!! The government has pretty much messed up on any social program it has put together. And from what I have seen in my 41 years of life and 20 odd years of working for Medical Insurance companies, the private sector has done a lot better job on anything it designed and implemented.

If people really need a wake up call on what it would be like to have Socialized or Universal health care they just need to tour the VA hospitals, clinics and retirement homes.

People saying that privitized health care works better and has less beauracracy than the government is seriously out of their minds or woefully lacking experience.

I'm sorry, you can't make any more red tape that insurance companies and hospitals have designed. In my daily dealings with Medicare and Medicaid, they're much more straight forward than any other parties I deal with!

If a project is started on the wrong foot, it will end badly. If the government decided it's not going to reward friends of politicians and instead actually commit to this venture, it could be done very well. Walter Reed was a scandal because the people in charges were cronies and they acted in the best interests of people who put them there rather than their actual charges.

My experience in the medical field: mother an RN at a VA, father an RRT at a private hospital, I run a DME company (day to day beauracracy), sister in med school, two close relatives currently doing residency in NJ and AZ.

The goverment already has 2 types of univeral health care, Medicare and Medicaid. Medicare is for retired people of those with disability. Medicaid is for those with little income or personal property. Both systems work fairly well exceptfor the reimbursement paid to health care providers. They don't pay as much as private insurance. I am a nurse and agree with a universal health coverage. I see to many people coming into the ER for routine care because they can't get it elsewhere. Women can't get mammograms or pap tests at low cost. My last mammogram cost over $600. I had an abnormality and had to get a biopsy, that was an additional $2,000. I have insurance but if I didn't I could not have had the mammogram or biopsy.

No, who's gonna pay for it. Taxes would be raised to an obscene level. Doctors would make next to nothing. And, more people will die and suffer waiting in line because everyone needs medical attention. Fear these words
" I'm from the government and I'm here to help." If you think Walter Reed was bad you'd have another thing coming.

I agree. My experience in dealing with the government is that there is more paperwork, bureaucracy, and waste than effective performance of a task. Just ask nurses, who now spend more time satisfying the government by filling out forms than they do actually caring for patients. Don't let the government take over health care!

Public coaching is an magnificent occasion of government run centers. that's 2nd value at ideal, probably 0.33 value while in comparison with something of the worldwide. ' inner maximum faculties produce extra suitable knowledgeable human beings while in comparison with public colleges. This has not consistently been this way. Years in the past there became disipline in colleges and right this moment that's wishy washy at ideal. persist with this socialized drugs like the democrat liberals opt to put in place and you will have a 0.33 value well-being care gadget. you think of you could desire to attend an prolonged time now, wait until socialized drugs gets right here.

We should have health care that provides for children and the elderly.. I have no problem with adults who are able working for their health care... I think it should be a factor in welfare and medicade that you need to work X amount of hours a month to obtain this benefit.. To collect unemployment, you need to work so many hours, so why not to collect the other... Makes sense.. If not, have them work in a supervised day care center that provides free daycare for those of us who are working to pay taxes that pays for their free medical care.... ( The able bodied adults...) I also think it should be mandatory for you to pass monthly drug screenings, and provide residency checks much like working people are required to do before qualifying for free care...
