it depends how big the original item is/was!

1:35 means 1 x 35th of the full size

of a shoe box it would be about the size of a match box
but of a castle it would be about the size of a room

each 35 cm's of the original will be 1cm on the scaled down version. as an example a standard 30cm ruler (which measures slightly over 35cm's as there is a gap before and after the measurement begins on it) would only be just over 1 cm long when scaled down by 1:35

1:35 scale is approximately 3cm to 1m.(100 cm) or to be precise it is exactly 3 cm to 105 cm. I hope this is helpful.

When you draw a diagram for instance, 1cm on the diagram = 35 actual cm.

More information, is required, before I can ANSWER this question, - but, - IMAGINE, that the ORIGINAL item, was 35 METRES, in LENGTH, - the SCALE MODEL of it would be just ONE METRE long! And EVERYTHING on the model, would be 1/35th of its ORIGINAL SIZE!

Have you got the IDEA?
