I'm partitioning my hard disk?

Do I have to have 1 pimary active partition and 1 logical none active.

or 1 pimary active partition and 1 primary none active.

or does it matter.

also whats the difference between pimary and logical and whats the advantage.

it seems such as you are able to merely create yet another partition and use it as a 2ndchronic. besides the fact that if i might hate having a 10gb and a 30gbchronic, there are partition "stretcher" classes accessible for loose. which will see your 10gb partition and stretch it to apply the different 30gb. enhancing an present partition is riskier than making a clean one so lower back up your stuff till now you do it. although i've got performed it 5 or 6 circumstances this 12 months on distinctive desktops and have not had a project yet.

Though you're in the wrong category, I'll try to help.
* First, Primary vs Logical: You always have to have 1 primary. Only primaries can be booted from in Windows ( if you're running anothe rOS this isn't always true )
Logical partitions are actually not "real" partitions themselves, but are sub-partitions within the "extended partition". For practical purposes, there is no other difference
* Your "active" partition, is the one you want the compute rto boot from. So you should leave the primary partition active.
