my son has an appointment to get tubes in his ears on thursday and over the past two days he has came down with a little conjestion would they still do the surgery with conjestion. He has no fever and is just slightly conjested. Could that be draining from his ears?

we have a visit in the morning to see his ENT but I was wondering what everyone else thought if they would go ahead and do it.

I think that they will do it as long as he is not really sick. Good luck! It's a very simple procedure. It doesn't take long at all. If your child were an adult they would even do it in the office. You will probably notice that once your son has tubes and is congested that he will have some drainage from his ears. I have four children and two of my children have had tubes and my son had two sets of tubes. Good luck, the worst part is when they are coming out of the anesthesia.

I would have him checked out before surgey, because of the need for anesthesia. Generally, if a child is sick they may not do surgery, but just a stuffy nose may not hurt.
Still call your pediatrician and get an appointment anyway first!

Normally, as long as there is no fever present, there should be no problem with doing the surgery as scheduled!
