I'm planning a cement pad in the back yard, and I would like to have one a good size to play on but I don't want to overdo it either.

I would think that half-court plus 6-8 feet extra should be plenty of room - as long as you the pole outside the concrete.

www.rhinocourts.com has a nice selection of courts you can design and have built.. It was too expensive for me, but it will give you some nice ideas on size..
