I currently have 100 amp service in my house. I am interested in upgrading it to a 200 amp service. Everything has been wired in the 100 amp service. I believe I have to install the 200 amp circuit breaker panel before the power company will switch power over. If I do that, what is the easiest way to have the circuits from the 100 amp brought over to the 200 circuit breaker panel. Any suggestions?

You need to change everything panel, wires out to meter and wires up to service drop , wires need to be 2/0 copper or 4/0 alum. and this is a big job and will require a inspection usually the electric company does not need to change any thing on there end . And you would have to disconnect and redo the connections that come from street to your service live and this is very dangerous you need to call a pro.

I just did this at my house. I had a 100amp main outside, and 100 amp panel in the garage. I had to get a new 200 amp main for outside, and a new 100 amp panel.

I just put 2 - 100 amp breakers in the outside main, connected the "old" line to the "old panel, and put a new panel because it was for an addition. I did all the work myself, and I am not an electrician. I just did a lot of reading, and talked to several electricians. Everything checked out, I had the state electrical inspector look it over, and the power company had to inspect it. It is a lot easier than it seems, just be carefull. Good luck!

Easiest and quickest would be to keep your current 100 amp panel in place and make it a sub panel. Get some 2/0 aluminum service entrance cable to run to the new panel and put a 100 amp breaker in the new box. Any new circuits you install can be run from the new panel.

Hire an electrician, most localities require that kind of work be done by a pro, and inspected by the building inspector. Also, the electric company will inspect it before hooking it up.

pull the meter to your exsisting panel. and verify that no voltage is at the buss bars.. then . disconnect all the wires and breakers and replace the box... assuming the meter is not enclosed in the same box.. if the new box is mounted near the old box, then route the wires over to the new box.. you may have to pull new wire or mount a junction box to extend the wires so the reach the new panel.
