I don't think it has anything to do with the "absorbsion or reflection" of heat mentioned in your question. It is most probably to do with evolution of a species to "fit in" to their natural habitat. Just think what would have happened to a blond white skinned person in those hot conditions on the equator in the times before sunscreen etc. - the person would have to become a night dweller because the sun would bake him to a crisp during day time. The darker the skin pigmentation is, the better it can handle the sun's rays.
If you look at the distribution of the humans where it was first recorded, the fairer skinned people stayed closer to the cold northern polar areas and as you progress closer to the equator, the people became darker of complection.

Dark-skinned people essentially live in tropical regions, not because they are receiving more sunshine than higher latitudes, not because these countries are much hotter, but only because the UV solar radiation is much more damaging when going to the equator. The heat (high air temperature) isn t the direct cause that makes skin darker, that s primilarily the higher UV index, in other words the greater intensity of the shortwave ultraviolet radiation coming from the sun. Dark-skinned people are, thus, more protected against sunburn than light-skinned people.

Good question but the lighter the skin is, the more susceptible to skin cancer. The darker skin is caused by greater melanin production, which all people posses(in varying degrees). Those with darker skin were naturally selected for providing the greatest success for continuing the species in the particular area.

Logically, people are dark skinned in hot countries because the weather is hot. It is likewise with fair skinned people who are in cold countries. Heat burns, while cold keeps ones skin fair. When I spend one day harvesting rice, at the end of the day my skin is dark brown because I'm burn with the heat. Having stayed one month in cold countries, my skin turned fair and pinkish. So I would say the colour of our skin has something to do with the kind of weather where we live.

Skin color can be protective from the sun's rays, too. Melanin is responsible for dark skin. In places with a LOT of sun, people are darker - it protects them from sun's rays. In northern/colder climes, light skin allows the little sunlight that is there to be absorbed - it helps produce vitamin D.

i do no longer think of it has something to do with the "absorbsion or mirrored image" of warmth suggested on your question. that's maximum in all probability to do with evolution of a species to "slot in" to their organic habitat. basically think of what might have got here approximately to a blond white skinned guy or woman in those warm circumstances on the equator in the circumstances in the previous sunscreen etc. - the guy might ought to grow to be a evening dweller because of the fact the sunlight might bake him to a crisp for the period of day time. The darker the floor pigmentation is, the extra perfect it could safeguard the sunlight's rays. in case you look on the distribution of the people the place it grow to be first recorded, the fairer skinned people stayed nearer to the chilly northern polar factors and as you progression nearer to the equator, the persons grew to grow to be darker of complection.

SKIN is not white or black...its just a general term used. Notice Ludacris is called black when he is quite pale.
