There is no one single most important question. You need to cover what skills they possess, what experience they've had, what prompted them to change jobs in the past, why they are interested in the opportunity with your firm, and if they are managers, what management experience they have had (hiring, firing, discipline, motivation.)

I know I will sound rude but if you are in a position to hire someone, you really should already know what types of questions to ask. Otherwise, you got your job undeservedly.

how does he/she makes management decisions when it comes to financial problems, which comes first the company benefit or personal benefit? (him her will always answer company first) then you can ask how.

you can re word my answer to your question, but my point in this is "dedication" in the company.
