They'll make about 2ft fully grown - and take no notice of the 'It'll only grow to the size of your tank' nonsense.

I WAS going to ASK what your fire eel had DONE, and make some "SMART" comment, like "SIX MONTHS, IF IT'S LUCKY, - AND THE JUDGE IS IN A GOOD MOOD!!", - but, I thought "BETTER" of it!

To answer your question, though, - it SHOULD reach somewhere, between 18 and 24 INCHES, in length.

In the wild they can reach up to 2 feet! In tanks though is unusual to see one over 12-14" but I have seen a few at 18" or so. Take a big tank and several years for one to get really large. Very cool fish :)
