Hippos spend most of the daylight hours in water deep enough to cover all of their body except enough of their faces so they can breath.
At night, they go out and graze and each adult eats about 300 pounds of grass.

hippos spend a great deal of time in the water and are amazingly graceful while submerged. adult hippos have no natural predators other than humans, baby hippos have to be more careful. hippos are very dangerous, more so than lions or crocs, if you invade on them.

Sort of... They spend much of their time in the water, but they browse on grass much of the night.
You'll often see wild hippos either in, or on the banks of the river during the day.

They spend most of their time in the water. However they do come onto the land at times as well. They sleep both on land and in the water.

They spend much of the time in the water, yes. However they are considered land mammals, unlike for example whales, dolphins and seals.

Yes, they come out at night to eat grass though. They are the most dangerous animal in Africa too, killing more people than lions or elephants!
