well when you live in really cold places where there's nothing but ice and snow as far as the eye can see, what else can you live in?

Why should something that's completely untrue bug you?
Most Inuit/Eskimo people do not live in igloos. It is a part of the heritage and many still built them as a way to keep in touch wiht that tradition. Do your research and stop wasting everyone's time.

How ignorant. First of all, it is INUIT not ESKIMO. Second of all, not all Inuit people live in igloos. Some do, but most live in regular homes like othe other peoples do.

The Inuit for the most, now live in houses, drive cars, etc.
Igloos are used when hunting on the ice, much as we would use a tent, e.g. for temporary housing. It makes sense to use what's in abundance around you to construct a shelter, rather then have to carry extra supplies with you..

They are supposedly very warm!! Besides, how much more convenient & economical can you get building your own house where you want? When it's too cold to go outside, you can even dig a hole to fish for your meal right inside your house!
