If you believe everything you see and hear, maybe this service will help you... otherwise, its just stupid people answering other peoples stupid questions. A major problem in this world is the lack of education; therefore, when you have a question because your are ignorant of the answer (or uneducated) shouldn't you turn to someone who is a professional and knows what they are talking about?

I ask questions that usually call for opinions and experience. Like 'has this ever happened to you.' I don't personally know many people that I can ask and often times I'd rather not let them know what I'm thinking of.
As for fact based answers, I don't accept the answer til I confirm it. At the very least, the answer may get me headed in the right direction to finding a reliable source.
I don't believe everything I see and hear. There are too many idiots and liars hiding behind screens. H*ll, there are too many in front of my eyes everyday.
I've even asked professionals who didn't have answers to my questions.

Good question, I am the same like you asking question on Yahoo ! Answers? If you think I am stupid and uneducated answering your question, that is your problem. Some hypocrite people thinks that this website is below their standard but they are here, having fun reading these stupid questions and answers. At least, what I know about me is I don't understimate people of their intelligent, that they know when to seek professional help or ask questions on Yahoo answers. Have a nice day!!!

i don't think it is a matter of being stupid.....granted, people ask a lot of stupid questions on here, but I imagine most of those people are about 10 to 17 years old.
I think people use this service because it is easy, convenient, free, and anonymous. I have gotten answers to all kinds of weird questions I have had on here.
You don't always necessarily need a professional, especially if you're just trying to remember the name of a movie or want to know if people prefer red or blue.
I agree there is a problem with lack of education; America especially is education-phobic (not a word, I know...) but we can still have fun.

Lighten up sparky... Whatever it is you stuffed up your a*ss, is getting tight and seems to be stuck? Don't take it out on the rest of us!

This place is for fun! Any well meaning, otherwise kind and decent person, who actually takes it seriously... Shouldn't be made fun of, or called names, but rather pitied instead.

Don't you think?

Intelligence implies the ability to show apathy and offer understanding to those who are of an obvious lesser mental state and condition. You just proved your own ignorance in your intolerance and petty basic unjustified name calling. You're just a bully looking to ameliorate yourself by calling attention to those you feel are somehow less than you.

They are not!

The problem in this world is not only "A lack of education."
The problem is also intolerance and people like you always trying to conform everyone else to their personal agenda and ideals without recognizing that they are opinion first, before anything else. It takes multitudes of others to make your opinions, fact... not just you. DUH...

Not to mention, there are some absolutely BRILLIANT minds on here, mostly just bored and looking to share their knowledge with others.

Mostly, it's just something to do...

Still feel better about yourself now?

Next time... I'll (figuratively) bite your head clean off rather than leaving some semblance of pride for you to curl up and cower with!

And by the way... Wouldn't an Ear Nose and Throat Doctor be a better person to ask about your snorting problem?

HUH?

People ask questions because they are curious. And curiosity is good, it gets you a little bit further. Sometimes it doesn't matter from where u get the knowledge.

There are though stupid questions on Yahoo!Answers and stupid people who answer, but I think that every and each one of us can use our common sense to distinguish and finally make a good choice of the question we want to answer if we have a good one. If u find the majority of questions stupid do not answer or if u do not know the answer of a not so stupid question for you do not answer it. It is sooo simple...

Your answer is right behind your question. Why did you ask this question? Asking questions in yahoo answers contributes a lot to our knowledge. Yahoo answers is a network of millions of people from around the world. So the questions that you ask will recieve many answers each of which is informative. This is the main reason why people pose questions in yahoo answers.

Of course there can be many more reasons. When people have nothing to do, they can pass their time by answering or asking questions and also increase their points that they recieve by asking or answering questions.
