It's a way to communicate feelings indirectly. Most of us don't want to be hurt emotionally, so we couch our feelings in innuendos and linguistic falsehoods.

Some people think that if they tell the complete truth and display their true emotions to others, they will be susceptible to unwanted scrutiny and derision.

With a false buffer that they can create to shield their true feelings from others, they can blame themselves for being bad actors rather than bad people, figuratively speaking.

have you ever been around your mom and dad... the dad ask...what do you want for christmas,birthday, pick a holiday or event... really any question the dad ask the mom... women always say Nothing... but really they mean I gave you a hint 1 year 5 months and 12 hours ago... you BETTER remember....

if your talking about High school... thats nothing they are trying to get in your pants... and will do what ever it takes to get some... just so you know... he doesnt love you.. and you dont love him.. wait 1 year and you will see what i mean
