The show was Moonlighting and to tell the truth, I was an extra on the show 3 times and almost got a bit part as an office person but the show was canceled two weeks later. RATS!!

You are thinking of the 80s sitcom of moonlighting. Where Sybil Shepard played Matty Hayes and Bruce Willis played David something. I forgot his last name on the show. She owned detective agency and she hired him to help her to bring in more clients so her business wouldn't go down the tubes
